Old Business:

Dan Thompson N8WKM presented the SERA Band plan for 900MHz to the Board. Dan recommended that we adopt this band plan due to the fact the ARRL does not go into detail for assigning repeater pairs, etc., etc. After much discussion, Kelly Karpp/seconded by Dan Thompson made a motion, that under the DOG, we use the SERA 900 Mhz Band Plan as a guide for coordinating repeaters. Motion passed. If further information is required go to http://www.sera.org

It was brought up Dave Johnson and Bruce that 32% of the coordinated Repeaters in the Lower Peninsula are two years or more past due with their TDS's. A good portion of that 32% is three years or more. Motion made by Bruce/ seconded by Kelly, that the funds be made available to send out a full mailing with a notice of possible de- coordination if current TDS's are not filed. Motion passed.

De-coordinations will commence, using the authority given the Coordinator in Section I, Paragraph F, Sub-Paragraph 1 of the MARC Standards:

A short note from the Prez………..

To begin with, as most of you know MARC tries to rotate the meetings around the state, so that more members could attend at least one meeting a year. The December meeting was planned for the Battle Creek/Kalamazoo area. We tried contacting a couple of clubs in the proposed area, but only one responded. I would like to thank Charlie Chapman from the Kalamazoo Amateur Radio Club for attempting to locate a venue for the meeting. With time drawing near, the Board looked else where for us to meet. So, we are meeting at our March location, East Tawas We will now look for a March setting.

Moving forward, the June meeting will be at the IRA Hamfest June 5th, in Hudsonville.

Dues are coming up, and payable January 1, 2004. Do not forget to mark what year you are paying, and your call sign on the check.

Send MARC Dues to:

If anyone has any questions, you can reach the Board via of the website, or my phone number is 586-465-7126. For those of making the meeting on the June 1st, I’ll see you there.

A Short Note From the Editor.

Due to limited time and space this month we have decided not

to include some  things that we had originally planned to include in this newsletter. Among those things were reports

from the Frequency Coordinator, Bruce Winchell, and the

Database Manager, Dave Johnson.

Dave’s report alone would have taken up nearly two pages

of this newsletter. The report submitted will appear on the website see: http://www.qsl.net/miarc/info_faq/DBA_Report.html

and will be available at the MARC meeting.

Rest assured that these people spend many, many hours

working on coordinations and records each month, and they

do this all as volunteers.

As repeater owners it is up to us to not only support MARC

with our membership dues, but to have input and help with

planning for the future. By attending at least some of the

meetings each year you will be able to voice your concerns

and ideas, as well as see what MARC is doing for you.

If you would like your comments included in the newsletter please email them to dan@waycom.com. Obviously I can only include what will fit into the newsletter. Please also note that the MARC also maintains an email address for communication concerning MARC business as well as a P.O Box for you to send USPS mail. The email address is miarc@yahoogroups.com and the USPS address can be found on the label of this mailing.

As always, more information is available on the MARC

website at http://www.qsl.net/miarc.
