President’s Update:

This December the meeting will be held on line and all are welcome to join. The instructions on joining the meeting are included in this newsletter. Keith reported that Bob, N8ZCC, our database manager, processed 225 TDS updates year to date. Thanks Bob for the super effort and thank you repeater trustees for the renewals. The up to date info on the repeaters help the ongoing coordination efforts.

Speaking of coordination efforts, I would like a couple volunteers to train for a coordination job. I would like to see new coordinators split the job each handling 10 and 2 meters or 6 meters and 440 MHZ. The training takes place on line when you and I are available. The training wont happen in December, January or February because of my schedule. It will take a some time as everyone is busy but eventually the new coordinators will feel comfortable doing the job. Dan, N8WKM and I will be able to answer any questions you will have. Any question sent to mail@miarc.com may be addressed by any board member. You will need a computer and probably a printer to do the job. I hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving and Christmas season.

Using your web browser

   1. Activate your Web Browser
   2. Go To https://join.freeconferencecall.com/marc-meeting
   3. Enter your name and email address
   4. Click the phone icon, you will have a choice to
        select using a telephone or your computer for
        audio if you have speakers and mic.
   5. If you select computer you should connect.
   6. If selecting telephone you will be presented with a number
        to dial and an access code.
   7. When prompted enter the access code followed by the # symbol.
   8. Once the audio connects you will need to press # once again
        and enter the synch code followed by the # symbol.
   9. You should now be connected.
       

Participation in the web-meeting is only needed for things like slideshow presentations, or use of a whiteboard where someone may need to do an illustration. It also allows us the opportunity to display the actual text of a motion for everyone to read. If you are unable to participate in the web-meeting you may still join in on the phone bridge from wherever you are.

Meeting called to order by Phil at 1:00 PM

Minutes: Minutes of the last meeting were read by Ann. Motion to approve minutes from the June 11 2022 meeting was made by Jeff , and seconded by Dan, vote taken, minutes approved.

Treasurer’s report provided by Phil. Motion to approve the report was made by Dan, seconded by Bob, vote taken, Motion passed.

Old Business:

Elections for President, secretary, and one board member.

Elections opened by Phil.

Nominees from the June 2022 meeting included:
Nominee for president's position respectfully declined by Phil.
Nominee for secretary was Ann Manor KT8F, accepted – no other nominees.
Nominee for Director was Jeff, KB8SXK, accepted, – no other nominees.
Phil opened the floor for any more nominations for all three positions. No further nominations. Phil asked for a motion from the floor, for the secretary to cast a unanimous ballot re-electing Ann,KT8F as secretary and Jeff, KB8SXK.as Director.

Jim made the motion to cast a unanimous ballot for KT8F and KB8SXK. Second by Jeff. Motion passed. Both Ann as secretary and Jeff as Director are to continue in their positions for two more years.

Phil has been working with David Potter, KE8OHG, in training for the treasurers position. David is ready to take on the job. Phil and David need to get together to transfer the treasurer's computer. Phil will resign as soon as the computer is transferred.

Jim made a motion to appoint David Potter, KE8OHG to treasurer's position as soon as Phil can transfer the treasurer's computer to him. Second by Dan. Vote taken, motion passed.

Discussion on possible links to be offered to the ARES web site for MARC services. Keith is not with us today. He was working on it. The issue will be brought up at the next meeting. Dan mentioned an issue with the MARC web page. He is working on it. It involves the display of the information, consisting of a word wrapping issue.

New Business:

Ed, N8FVM,and Vance N8UGY, spoke on an issue involving the Roscommon County Amateur Radio Group (WD7ROS). It has gone through the process of dissolving. Both Vance and Ed are former members of the group. It was agreed by both parties that the 147.230 pair and the 443.3625 be coordinated to Ed. Ed will need to return the 443.400 coordination and it will then be coordinated to Vance. MARC will also attempt to find a 2 meter pair for Vance and the newly formed Roscommon County Emergency Services organization. Dan, N8QOP, a former member of the WD7ROS group also stated he had no objections.
