President’s Update:

I am super backed up with requests for coordination. A few applications have slowed down the process lately because of slow responses to needed additional information. Right now I have 12 applications for 440. Four of those are still pending information from applicants, waiver permissions or out state clearances. On 2 meters there are none active but I have 7 on the waiting list, as there are no available pairs in their areas.

If you are contacted by a MARC volunteer, please comply with any request as soon as possible. We are dealing with a massive amount of data and it backs up very rapidly.

TDS applications ask for the transmitter power and ERP. To supply a correct ERP wattage, you must consider losses in the duplexer and feedline losses. You can subtract the losses from the antenna gain and use one of many available programs on the Internet to figure the ERP.
Example….
100 watts at transmitter, 3 dB loss in duplexer and feedline system. 6 dBd gain antenna. Subtract 3 dB from the antenna gain. 100 watts at 3 dBd= 200 watts ERP.

   1. Activate your Web Browser
   2. Go To https://join.freeconferencecall.com/marc-meeting
   3. Enter your name and email address
   4. Click the phone icon, you will have a choice to
        select using a telephone or your computer for
        audio if you have speakers and mic.
   5. If you select computer you should connect.
   6. If selecting telephone you will be presented with a number
        to dial and an access code.
   7. When prompted enter the access code followed by the # symbol.
   8. Once the audio connects you will need to press # once again
        and enter the synch code followed by the # symbol.
   9. You should now be connected.
       

Participation in the webmeeting is only needed for things like slideshow presentations, or use of a whiteboard where someone may need to do an illistration. It also allows us the opportunity to display the actual text of a motion for everyone to read. If you are unable to participate in the webmeeting you may still join in on the phone bridge from wherever you are.

Meeting called to order by Phil at 1:02 PM

Minutes of the last meeting were read by Ann. Motion to approve minutes from the December meeting was made by Dave, seconded by Bob, vote taken, minutes approved.
Treasurer's report provided by Dave.
Motion to approve the report was made by Dan, seconded by Ann, vote taken, Motion passed.

Old Business:

Phil brought resolution #16 up as it is due to be adopted or deleted. Resolution #16 - 5 March 2016
Motion by Dave WD8DJB, second by Jim K8JK:
MARC will coordinate digital voice repeaters with less than 9 kHz bandwidth on splinter channels on the 70 cm band, provided there is a minimum 40 mile adjacent channel mileage separation from main channel coordinated repeaters. This modifies the current 50 mile clearance on 70 cm. Motion passed. Motion to move Resolution # 16 into the bylaws was made by Dave, seconded by Dan, vote taken, motion passed. Resolution #16 is now part of the MARC bylaws. Phil will send Dave the changes for the web page.

New Business:

Stan gave a report on some repeaters that he is associated with. Stan stated, “ they are all working well”. He will be submitting a TDS modification of coordination, as he will be assuming Trustee duties of the 147.04 repeater.

Dave asked if the quarterly meetings could be moved to the second Saturday to help compile the treasurers report for the meeting, instead of the first Saturday. Discussion. Dan will check his schedule. Consensus was the first Saturday after the first Monday of the month may work. To be tabled at this time to give members time to check their schedules.
The meeting in June, will now be held on the June 8, instead of June 1.
