President’s Update:

This March the meeting will be held on line and all are welcome to join. The instructions on joining the meeting are included in this newsletter. With the Holidays, and winter travels for members, it is nice to be able to join in from remote locations and take part in the meetings.

As we head into spring and summer, with a list of new projects, I need to urge everyone to please keep up with your TDS as this is our only method of keeping our data up to date. Coordination is a means to help eliminate problems, and is a responsibility of each Sponsor to other Sponsors and repeater operators. Please take the 10 minutes to update your TDS every year.

   3. If the meeting organizer is already present,
        you'll be connected. If not, you'll be

WEBMEETING & Phone Bridge:

Using your web browser

   1. Activate your Web Browser
   2. Go To https://join.freeconferencecall.com/marc-meeting
   3. Enter your name and email address
   4. Click the phone icon, you will have a choice to
        select using a telephone or your computer for
        audio if you have speakers and mic.
   5. If you select computer you should connect.
   6. If selecting telephone you will be presented with a number
        to dial and an access code.
   7. When prompted enter the access code followed by the # symbol.
   8. Once the audio connects you will need to press # once again
        and enter the synch code followed by the # symbol.
   9. You should now be connected.

   If you are prompted for a meeting ID, it is "marc-meeting".
       

Participation in the web-meeting is only needed for things like slideshow presentations, or use of a whiteboard where someone may need to do an illustration. It also allows us the opportunity to display the actual text of a motion for everyone to read. If you are unable to participate in the web-meeting you may still join in on the phone bridge from wherever you are.

Meeting called to order by Phil at 1:00 PM

Minutes: Minutes of the last meeting were read by Ann. Motion to approve minutes from the September 10, 2022 meeting was made by Jeff , and seconded by Bob, vote taken, minutes approved.

Treasurer's report provided by Phil. Discussion on the presentation of the expense detail. This will be modified to make the math more clear on the report. Motion to approve the report was made by Jeff, seconded by Dan, vote taken, Motion passed.

Old Business:

Discussion regarding links to the ARES web site for MARC services. The board agreed that a link to the MARC web page could be tried. If the MARC web site becomes over loaded, MARC would ask that the link be removed. Keith stated he will work on it.

Dan and Phil discussed the old MARC treasurer's computer. It needs more RAM and possibly a solid state drive. David and Dan will get together using email to figure out a solution.

New Business:

Bob brought up a situation that is occurring on some repeaters in the St. Johns, Michigan area. Three repeaters were discussed. One of the three repeaters has a trustee and is up to date. The other two repeaters do not have a trustee and have been out of date for about 4 years. MARC will send notices of de-coordination to the out of date repeaters' sponsor. Jeff, being a former member of the club, will also contact the group to see what can be done to help get the out of date coordinations updated. Added note. A trustee is required to obtain a renewal to maintain a MARC coordination.

Phil stated that as of today, he is officially resigning as president. Dan, as VP, assumes the president's position. A vice president needs to be appointed. Phil nominated Keith as VP. Keith accepted the nomination. Seconded by Jeff. Vote taken, motion approved.

Keith, KD8ZSK is appointed to the vice president position until the next election for vice president.

Phil thanked the members of the board for their support over the last 11 years. Phil will continue to do coordinations and help MARC in other ways.
